Steve Schoenberger spent the first 15 years of his career at various global insurance companies assessing and pricing risk, and working with both large national brokers and small specialty agencies. Steve saw an opportunity to leverage his insider’s knowledge of the underwriting process, and joined the Mason & Mason team in 2004.
“I realized that very few brokers pay as much attention to detail as Mason & Mason,” Steve says. “When I worked with them as an underwriter, I always valued their level of diligence. Mason & Mason understands that one or two words in a policy may mean the difference between a $1M claim payment and a claim denial, especially in the more complex insurance lines such as professional liability, D&O and clinical trials insurance. The culture here allows me to maximize my expertise and drive value for my clients.”
Prior to joining Mason & Mason, Steve was the Regional Underwriting Manager for AIG’s Technology and Professional Liability Group in Boston, where he managed a large portfolio of insurance products for technology companies. He began his insurance career with The Hartford Insurance Group, underwriting commercial general liability, property, automobile and excess liability coverages.
Steve, his wife Ellie, and his two young children Greta and Finn live in Hanover, MA. Completing their family is a dog named Casper and 6 chickens. Steve loves the outdoors, and is passionate about fishing, hiking and camping.
