Account Manager—Life Science & Technology Practice:
You’ll be part of a specialized service team providing property and casualty insurance brokerage services to life science and technology companies. You’ll be responsible for the on-going service needs of a group of clients, helping assure the insurance programs designed for these dynamic companies evolve with their needs.

You’ll seek to develop loyal client relationships with the mangers of these companies built on your responsiveness and professional knowledge. You’ll serve as an effective intermediary with insurers and communicate insurance options and recommendations to clients. You’ll be “hands on” in the insurance brokerage process, doing everything from negotiating insurance covers with underwriters to accuracy checking insurance policies for delivery.

REQUIREMENTS: Insurance industry experience is required and a demonstrated commitment to professional development preferred (e.g. CIC or equivalent designation). Strong verbal and written client communications skills are key. You’ll need to be well organized with ability to maintain a professional and helpful demeanor while managing multiple service priorities. Proficiency with insurance agency automation workflow tools is a necessity.

Business Development Account Executive—Life Science & Technology:
Reporting to the company president, the Business Development Account Executive is responsible for developing new business in the Life Science and Technology sectors, from start-up companies to those that are well-established. This includes representing the firm’s portfolio of insurance products and services designed for technology and life science firms,  attending regional industry networking events, cold calling, direct mail follow-up, and generally positioning the firm as “technology and life science insurance specialists.” This frequently involves working with venture capital and private equity firms that finance these companies.

We anticipate that the successful candidate will undergo a period of professional apprenticeship during which the candidate will be responsible for generating new clients while being supported with the technical knowledge of the firm’s more experienced insurance professionals. At the end of apprenticeship the candidate will assume full professional responsibility for the clients he/she develops.

REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of 4 years of college or 5 years of professional service experience. Insurance knowledge is helpful but not required. Finance or legal expertise in the Life Science & Technology sectors is helpful, but not required.

The successful candidate will have strong presentation skills and the confidence needed to effectively communicate with the partners, CFOs, and inside and outside legal counsel of firms in the life science and technology sectors.

Business Development Account Executive—Private Client Practice:
Reporting to the company president, the Business Development Account Executive is responsible for developing new business in personal lines for venture capitalists and other wealthy individuals who require a higher level of personal risk management and insurance.

This includes representing the firm’s portfolio of personal lines insurance products and services; attending regional venture capital networking events, cold calling, direct mail follow-up, and generally positioning the firm as “insurance specialists for high net work individuals.” This frequently involves working with venture capitalists, their portfolio clients and private equity firms
